Know who can find you
Other participating users who encounter you while discovery is active can find your profile. Share only photos and information you are comfortable showing them. An encounter can reveal that you were close to another user.
Pausing discovery stops new discovery; it does not erase earlier encounters. People who encountered you earlier may still see you in their history.
A conversation needs two choices
Chat starts after mutual likes. You can stop replying whenever you wish. A profile or match does not establish someone’s identity or guarantee that meeting them is safe.
Pause new discovery or manage your account
Tap the Beside logo in the app to pause new discovery when you do not want to appear in new encounters. Pausing does not remove earlier encounters, close every chat or delete your account.
Account deletion is available only in the app’s account settings. Accounts cannot be deleted by email.
When something is wrong
Use the profile report option or contact Beside about harassment, impersonation or other rule violations. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services; app reports are not an emergency service.
