Before: get ready and choose a busy place
Concerts, festivals, university campuses, busy cafés and popular walking areas give you more opportunities to cross paths with other Beside users. Choose somewhere you would enjoy spending time.
Before you arrive, update Beside, sign in and complete your profile. Turn on Bluetooth, allow the required permissions and enable discovery. Set up background activity so you can put your phone away and enjoy being there.
During: enjoy the place and discover who is nearby
Keep discovery active while you spend time there. Beside’s smallest search area on the market focuses discovery on your immediate surroundings, so you can find other users you actually cross paths with.
When you have a moment, open the nearby view. Explore a profile and send a like if someone catches your interest. You can also leave your phone in your pocket and browse saved encounters later.
After: return to the people you encountered
Open your encounter history after you leave. Find a familiar face, explore their profile and send a like. When the interest is mutual, a chat opens — a simple way to turn a shared outing into a conversation.
Keep discovering on the way home
Your next encounter could be on the walk home or at your next stop. Leave discovery on to keep recording people you cross paths with. If you prefer a break, tap the Beside logo to pause; your earlier encounters stay available.
