Find the profile and make the first move
- Open Beside and browse your encounter history. If you are still at the same place, check the nearby view too.
- Open a profile you recognise and explore their photos, introduction and interests.
- Send a like if you would enjoy getting to know them. You can do this after leaving the place where you crossed paths.
- When they like you back, open your chat and start a conversation.
Be ready for your next encounter
Before heading out, turn on Bluetooth, allow the required permissions and enable discovery in Beside. Keep background activity enabled while your phone is in your pocket. A busy café, campus or event gives you more opportunities to cross paths with other users.
Looking for a missing encounter?
An encounter is saved when Beside discovers another user nearby. If a profile is missing, discovery may have been paused, your phone may need a settings change, or that person may not use Beside. Follow the nearby-discovery checklist to get ready for future encounters.
What about someone I saw before installing?
Your encounter history starts with encounters recorded while you use Beside with discovery active. Installing the app today does not recover a meeting from yesterday. Set it up before your next outing so future encounters can be saved.
