Like someone you would enjoy meeting
Open a profile from your nearby view or encounter history. Explore their photos, introduction and interests, then send a like. When they like your profile too, you have a match and can start chatting.
Open your match and say hello
Go to the chat area in Beside and open the conversation with your match. Start with a simple hello, ask about an interest on their profile or mention the place where you think you crossed paths.
For example: “Hi! I noticed you’re into live music. Been to any good concerts lately?” A small shared interest gives the conversation somewhere to start.
Need help opening a chat?
Chat becomes available after a mutual like. If you have matched but the conversation will not load, check your internet connection, update Beside and reopen the app.
If it still will not open, contact support with your phone model, Beside version and any error shown on the chat screen. Keep passwords, sign-in links and unrelated private messages out of your report.
Use Beside’s reporting and chat controls
If a conversation is unwanted or breaks the rules, use the profile report option or contact Beside. On iPhone, a profile opened from a chat also has a Block user control. Available chat controls can differ on Android and between app versions.
